History

The Burnley district appears on the official map of Gotham City and is shown to be located on Gotham City's nothern island. It is bordered by Crime Alley and the Bowery to the east.

This district was named after DC Comics artist Jack Burnley.

Burnley appears in the Gotham episode A Dark Knight: No Man's Land, where the district is portrayed as the territory that was taken over by Firefly and her gang during No Man's Land. Firefly's territory in Burnley was later visible on James Gordon's map of Gotham City in the episode Legend of the Dark Knight: Year Zero.

Film

Joker

Burnley also exists in the reality of the 2019 film Joker. It was included on the subway map for Gotham City that appeared in the final version of the movie.[1][2]

In DC Universe Online, Burnley was the district were Giordano Botanical Gardens and the Von Gruenwald Tower were located.
